Rad Source Technologies Announces Newly Redesigned RS 3400 Blood Irradiator for 2021

May 19, 2021 Life Sciences & Healthcare, Manufacturing & Engineering, Product Launches

Rad Source Technologies, Inc. (Rad Source), a global leader in developing x-ray solutions for life science, is pleased to introduce an update to the industry’s premier blood irradiator, the RS 3400. The newly redesigned FDA-cleared RS 3400, powered by the patented Quastar® x-ray emitter and blood rotator, incorporates several new updated features leading to improvements in dose uniformity, serviceability, reliability and manufacturing efficiency, all while incorporating a sleek new one world look.

“The RS 3400 internal mechanisms, the major components and functionality, have not changed – the patented Blood Rotator and Quastar® emitter, throughput capability, processing time and dose uniformity remain the same or better with this new version.” says George Terry, Executive Vice President, Rad Source.

In 1999, Rad Source pioneered the first-ever FDA-approved blood x-ray irradiation medical device used to prevent TA- GVHD, and we have maintained our status as the industry leader and gold-standard in blood irradiation technology and instrumentation ever since. Our patented x-ray irradiation technology effectively and routinely inactivates the immune cells in donor blood, which diminishes the risk of developing TA-GVHD for the transfusion recipient.
