MONADNOCK PAPER MILLS WINS 2022 SUSTAINABILITY AWARD FROM NONPROFIT TRADE ORGANIZATION

May 6, 2022 Brand Positioning, Printing, Paper & Packaging, Public Relations

Monadnock Paper Mills, Inc., the oldest continuously operating paper mill in the United States, is pleased to announce that it has received the 2022 Sustainability Award from the Association of International Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL) for the company’s Envi PC 100 Card (The Paper Card).

The award recognizes equipment, materials, or processes that reduce environmental impact, minimize energy usage or waste, and/or increase recycling for work completed in 2021. The Envi PC 100 Card, a 100% post-consumer-recycled (PCR) fiber stock designed with maximum PCR content as an alternative to polyvinyl chloride, polylactic acid, virgin-fiber solid bleached sulfate and mixed virgin/recycled fiber cards for gift, membership, and loyalty cards.

More than eight billion cards have been produced by leading global brands since the virgin fiber product’s introduction in 2016. Retailers, restaurants, hotels, and other consumer brands are using the “un-plastic alternative” to legacy plastic and PVC substrates with disadvantaged sustainability profiles. The new Envi PC 100 Card is recyclable in the curbside mixed paper waste bin.

“The Envi PC 100 Card is the perfect solution for brands looking to improve their environmental score cards,” said Julie Brannen, Director, Sustainability Solutions, Monadnock Paper Mills. “Companies now see the importance of investing in effective, sustainable solutions at every touchpoint – it’s what consumers are demanding from global brands.”

AIMCAL is a nonprofit trade organization with more than 270 member companies in the global converting industry, representing converters of metallized, laminated and coated flexible substrates and their suppliers.

Past recipients of this award include companies passionate about innovative solutions in the sustainable space. Monadnock Paper Mills’ reputation for consistency and continuous improvement has earned them a spot amongst other leading-edge companies.

“The Envi PC 100 Card product is a testament to our mission— focusing on the environment and ingenuity,” said Brannen. “It really gives us the ability to create the highest quality products for our clients and the environment.”
